京津城际列车是环京通勤列车中开行数量最多的线路。运营17年来，该线路实行公交化运行模式，最短发车间隔仅3分钟。
如今，这一老线路焕发新活力。京津城际亦庄站自去年10月开通运营以来，备受“天津生活、亦庄工作”通勤族的青睐。每天上午10点前，京津城际有6趟车在亦庄站停靠。从天津站到亦庄站，最快24分钟即可到达。
自去年12月10日京津城际列车运行图调整至今，天津各站超11万人次通过京津城际前往亦庄站，超9万人次通过京津城际从亦庄站抵达天津各站。“亦庄站让我的通勤时间缩短了1个多小时，早上可以多睡一会儿。”李倩家住天津武清，在亦庄某互联网科技公司工作。
回忆起之前的通勤路，她百感交集。“那时上班要先到北京南站，再换乘两次地铁到亦庄。”京津城际新增亦庄站停车后，她的通勤路更顺畅了。“从武清到亦庄，坐城际列车仅需16分钟，出站后打车去公司，全程才半个小时。”李倩告诉记者，她的微信加入了很多往返亦庄、天津的群组。京津城际亦庄站开通后，需要拼车的人越来越少，更多人选择了通勤列车。
