11 October 2012 Queenstown downhill biking season (自行车)


You can bike in Queenstown almost all year round but it's spring, summer and autumn after the alpine snow has melted away when the mountain biking and the downhill biking in particular really kicks off. The 29th of September marked the start of Skyline Queenstown's Gondola assisted bike lift pass, providing direct access to Queenstown Bike Park.
The Bike Park has 12 world class mountain biking trails and varying terrain for all abilities. In amongst the pine trees of the Ben Lomond Reserve, Queenstown Bike Park boasts over 30km of tracks and a longest run of 6km. A 450 metre vertical rise via the Skyline Gondola gives riders easy access to arguably New Zealand's best mountain bike park.
There are also a huge range of other mountain biking and cross country trails around the Queenstown region as well as heli-biking, wine biking tours, family rides and the new Queenstown Trail.


16 August 2012 Shop till you drop in Queenstown & Arrow（逛街）

What's happening? Rug up and venture into the night. Arrowtown looks magical in the winter twilight with fairy lights and braziers lining the streets and cosy alleys. Families and couples stroll the streets browsing in over 40 shops. Experience Arrowtown's Winter Twilight Trading, running every Thursday in August 2012.
Then we hit the streets of Queenstown to shop till we drop. We poke our noses into boutique stores like Decode, Angel Divine, Megaphone, Goddess, Kappa Design Gallery, The OK Gift & Souvenir shop and The Supply Room.
Then it's back to Arrowtown for a chat with Gary from The Jade & Opal Factory who lets us into the Jade Carving Studio and shares with us his extensive knowledge and experience with jade and greenstone (called ponamu in Maori). An interesting look into the world of one of New Zealand's favourite souvenir keepsakes.

26 September 2012 A trip to Glenorchy on most beautiful road

We take a trip down the road to Glenorchy, considered by many to be New Zealand's most beautiful road and one of the most scenic roads in the world. It's a beautiful spring day, perfect for taking in the sights and stops on the way. We take photographs of the world famous view from Benett's Bluff and then slip into the relaxed pace of life in the small rural township of Glenorchy. This is definitely one side trip on your visit to Queenstown you can't afford to miss!


29 August 2012 Impressive tricks at the FIS Halfpipe World Champs in New Zealand

We marveled at all the acrobatic and aerodynamic action as the world's top ranked freestyle skiers and snowboarders battled it out for the men and women's FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup titles, while the crowds soaked up the laid-back Cardrona vibe. Part of the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games and filmed under picture perfect blue skies at Cardrona Alpine Resort (located just over an hour's drive from Queenstown) we've crammed in more allie oops, backside grabs and rodeos than you can handle!
