The 2nd amendment is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess and carry firearms. It is a part of people's rights, but I think it should be repealed. I have several reasons for my opinion.
First, it will increase the chance of crime. If a person does not have weapons, he may not have the counrage to do some bad things like streal or rob. If a personn owns the weapon who has bad thoughts, that the person will be very dangerous for the society, the person may affect other people's safety. There was an example happened 1 month ago. There was a young guy killed 28 people in elementery school in the State of Connecticut. Now, we are not going to look for the reasons that why he killed people, but just thinks what the role of gun play in this event. If he without a gun, he could not kill so much people. But he owned the gun legaly. Because in some states the governments allow people to buy guns. So I think if the 2nd amendent is repealed, we can reduce the chence of crime. And if someone wants to disturb the satety of the society, the peron has no big weapons, we can decarese the hazardness that they bring us.
Second, if people do have the rights to own a gun, then the criminal will have less weapons, and other people live in the area will be safer. As a example, the policemen were going to catch the criminals. If the crinimals have weapon, that they will hurt the policemen's safety. Everyone has the rights within life, liberty and property. The are the basis rights, So the right to carry weapon is not as important as them. If a criminal has weapon, the crinimal will make inroads on other people's basis rights. To protect most people's right, the 2nd amendment should be repealed.
