2013–present: Before I Sleep and Save Me
Main article: Before I Sleep (album)The music video for a song entitled 'The Fall' was released on 27 November 2012. The video marked Bo's first release since competing in The Voice UK and Bruce announced that the track could be downloaded for free as an 'end of year gift' to the fans.[30] It was confirmed that the track would be also appearing on Bruce's upcoming debut album.[31]
It was announced through Bruce's Official website that Bo's debut single and album had been scheduled for release in April 2013, commenting that "Bo's label are gearing up for a big release".[32] On 1 February 2013 Bo announced via Twitcam that her debut single would be titled 'Save Me', and the album was confirmed to be titled Before I Sleep. Bruce commented that the album title Before I Sleep was inspired by the poem Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, written by Robert Frost. Shortly after this, the release date for both the debut single and album was confirmed as 29 April 2013.[33]
The names of a number of tracks to be included on the release have been confirmed, including 'The Fall', 'Lightkeeper', 'Over and Over', 'Echoes', 'The Hands I Hold', 'Speed The Fire', the lead single 'Save Me' and a track co-written with former The Voice UK mentor Danny O'Donoghue entitled 'Alive'.[34][35] A number of collaborations on the album have also been confirmed, including: Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol,[36] Sia Furler, Greg Kurstin, Henry Binns of Zero 7[37] and former mentor Danny O'Donoghue of The Script.[38]
In March 2013 Bruce signed a publishing deal with Polar Patrol Publishing, which was set up by members of Snow Patrol and currently publishes a number of artists and songwriters, including Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and Here We Go Magic. MusicWeek reported; "The contract features a number of quirky details including a year's supply of Maltesers for manager Matt, and a kiss from Quinn's son Thor for Bruce every year on his birthday 'until he is old enough to know better'".[39]
On 24 April 2013 it was announced that Bruce had collaborated on a track with Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, entitled 'The Rage That's In Us All', for the motion picture Star Trek Into Darkness, which was released in cinemas on 9 May 2013.[40][41]It has been confirmed that Bruce's second single is due for release on 24 June 2013 and is titled "Alive", taken from her debut album Before I Sleep.[42][43]
