Chin continues with the Five-O until it is disbanded when a new governor is elected. The entire group decides that it is time to leave the area anyway due to how long they’ve been there. Chin travels to Australia with Stephen McGarrett and Danny Williams to learn more about Vampires.
In 1980s Chin heads to the mainland US. After traveling around for a bit he settles in Los Angeles in the mid-80s working with Gustave du Champs in the DEA. During a DEA raid of a wanted drug trafficker he runs across his Mate who he believes is a criminal at first. After arresting his Mate they soon find out that he is a Los Angeles Police Department undercover officer named Martin Deeks.
A couple of months later he turns his Mate and the two stay in LA until Martin sustains a mortal would during an undercover op and they have to leave the area. They move to a few different places ending up back in Hawaii in the 2000s where both go to work for the HPD.
