The swimming competition of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games held in the Munhak Park Tae-hwan Aquatics Center has finally come to a close, with China coming out on top with a total of 45 medals, of which 22 are gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze. Kosuke Hagino of Japan shocked all by taking the gold in the men’s 200m freestyle.
2014年仁川亚运会在文鹤朴泰桓游泳中心的比赛终于接近了尾声，中国队以22金12银11铜功绩45枚奖牌的成绩傲视群雄。日本的萩野公介则在男子200自的比赛中令人震惊地夺得了金牌。

But the main attraction of the event was focused on two early much-loved rivals, Park Tae-hwan of South Korea and Sun Yang of China. Their rivalry has been ongoing for quite some time, and will go surely be remembered in the history of swimming for much longer.
但是比赛的焦点却是两位早已深深相爱的对手【我不是刻意无节操的，但是你们说这个early much-LOVED是踏马几个意思？！！！！】：来自韩国的朴泰桓与中国的孙杨。他们之间的竞争已经持续了相当长的一段时间，毫无疑问这竞争将会被更长久地载入游泳史册。

Sun Yang dominated over Park Tae-hwan throughout the entire competition performance-wise. He finished higher than Park and walked away from the men’s 200m freestyle with a silver medal and a gold in the men’s 400m and 1500m freestyle events. Even still, Park still remains reigning medal champion, holding over 20 medals to his name since the 2006 Doha Games.

Taking a step back to look at the bigger picture, the two have actually become great friends outside of the pool, despite their fierce competition in the water. In fact, after the finals, Sun Yang presented Park Tae-hwan with a birthday surprise for his 25th birthday on September 27, 2014. Yang had prepared a cake and dedication card, and the spectators screamed with delight while singing a rendition of happy birthday to the swimming champion. Yang also had some fun smearing icing on Park’s face as a prank.

The Asian Games is not all about competition and record breaking. It is about sportsmanship and camaraderie that forges new circles of friends that will carry each other through thick and thin later in life. These two rivals are a great example of this, and really exemplify the 2014 Incheon Asian Games’ slogan, “Diversity Shines Here.”
