Or, in her growth, she may feel how the way the world works, though she herself is always irresolute over the matter whether she should be a part of it; and as she is never in it, she can barely understand it, not to mention taking its advantage. Yet as she has to deal with others, she have to develop some sort of approach to get along with others, and as she is always a lone wolf, she has to dress herself in a puppy’s cloth, and always hide her grievance. Endurance she terms it, while hypocrisy or eccentricity (idiosyncrasy) the others call it. This illusionary sociability deceives not only infrequent acquaintances, but also herself. She is, in some extreme circumstances, indulged in her ego and even use the self-confidence or even self-admiration as her own spiritual pillar. This is not always a defect; instead, this type of self-sufficient psychological structure ensures unshakable stability in crisis and short-term adversity, yet when the tide cannot be turned soon, the cloud will gradually gather over her mind and deprive her eyes of the celestial starry night.
I myself have no prejudice against people of this kind, and I presume to say that I have my appreciation for their willpower in adversity, pity for their sufferings in life, and upset for their ignorance to their own defects. However, who is wise enough to thoroughly understand himself? It’s really rare to find a mirror in life. Reflect on myself and I am always deluded by myself again and again, and therefore perhaps I am truly a Sphinx to myself. Constant reflection, three times a day, cannot help. Self-inflicted vicissitudes have been a loyal companion though I sincerely expect to bid my farewell as soon as possible. Perhaps nowadays we are alienated form ourselves as well as from others.

关于上面那个问题 其实我“I met once”那句是修改加的 结果把上下语义就打断了。本来想用“you”泛指 表示人人都拿她没办法；不过看夏至的解说 觉得用I似乎更好。
