Today I fly to Washington, D.C. in the hopes that I can stand outside of the Supreme Court of the United States of America tomorrow morning and hear that they have ruled in favor of marriage equality. --------------------- In the 14 months since I have posted my YouTube video, “It Could Happen To You,” I have heard from thousands of you. Many of you have said that learning about my story has made you understand that LGBT citizens deserve full equality. Many of you now see that Civil Unions and Domestic Partnerships are not an acceptable alternative. -------------------- Thank you all for doing your part in making this issue of human rights visible. By sharing my video you have not only kept the memory of my partner Tom alive, but you have helped to create awareness of the injustice and bringing acceptance to light. Let's hope that the Supreme Court makes the right decision. I was immensely surprised and honored this morning when I opened the Los Angeles Times newspaper to discover an article about the documentary #Bridegroom. Making this film has been such a humbling experience, and to see how it is touching people throughout the country, and in my own city, is overwhelming. ------------------------ I am additionally honored by Outfest’s decision to add a screening of Bridegroom to their lineup this Sunday. If you are near the Los Angeles area and would like to attend, you can purchase tickets at Outfest.org (ALL proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Outfest). ---------------------- If you are unable to attend a screening of Bridegroom at different film festivals around the country, don’t worry!
